Postcode area search, detailed tables and a General Election candidates module all form part of the most recent Polimapper product releases.

Version 3.0.3 – Postcode area search

Postcode search has been rolled out in beta form on the Police Force Areas map (as can be seen in this live example for the Stop Shop Theft campaign. We will be monitoring and testing this functionality in a live environment prior to rolling it out to other map types.

Version 3.0.2

Detailed Area Tables

In this latest update, we have added the ability to import supplementary spreadsheets of data that complement and enhance the main data set. These additional spreadsheets can contain multiple rows of data for one node (e.g constituency, or local authority), therefore allowing for the creation of detailed tables.

This functionality allows for greater detail to be added to projects.

Example 1: Your main data upload might contain information on the total amount in value of grants awarded in the area. Using the existing functionality you would be able to show the aggregated figure. The new function enables you to create a table that breaks down this figure into individual grants, adding much more detail and colour to your project.

Example 2: Your main data upload contains information on the number of sites you have in a particular area. Using the existing functionality you could list the number of sites and name them. Wth the new functionality you could upload information listing the sites and a whole host of other data associated with them in a table format.

Updated Map Key

We have added additional flexibility to the map key, allowing you to remove the map key entirely. This is useful if you don’t wish to use a heatmap as part of your project.

Tinyurl Function

In this release we have added a ‘tinyurl’ generator to the project settings, allowing you to shorten urls.
