For electoral purposes, the entirety of the UK is divided into parliamentary constituencies that are used to elect the national government based at Westminster.
However, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland all have their own devolved institutions which govern on policy issues that are devolved to those countries. There is a separate set of constituencies and regions used to elect these in each of the countries.
