With party conferences wrapped up and the Autumn Budget on the horizon, the last quarter of the year marks a critical window for influence.

The Polimapper team has rolled out significant platform enhancements to make your outreach more localised, interactive, modern, and user-friendly. These updates fundamentally transform your data visualisation experience, offering the best visuals to date.

Key updates include:

  • Enhanced all new map module
  • Interactive drop-pin functionality
  • More map templates than ever before
  • Improved postcode API function
  • Increased loading speeds and responsiveness
  • Better mobile compatibility

Here is a full rundown of what is waiting for you just a click away:

More detailed national and local maps

Both national and local level maps have been significantly upgraded by incorporating OpenStreetMaps into the platform, adding layers of detail, interactivity and ease of use. The new module features:

  • High-resolution display for improved granular context and street-level views
  • Seamless navigation and fluid panning
  • Full zoom control

Enhancements to national level maps are only superseded by upgrades to local-area dashboards, which now host detailed local boundaries, zoom functionality and in-map navigation to data for neighbouring local areas.

For users, this means a superior experience in interacting with and understanding datasets; for organisations, it provides unparalleled support for displaying data and capturing stakeholder interest.

Existing customers can start visualising data with the new map module today. Simply select ‘Enable detailed map’ in settings. For those who prefer the original simplicity, rest assured, the existing maps remain fully available in the platform.

Add depth to your local level stories with drop-pins

Perhaps the biggest single benefit of our new map module is the ability to add drop-pins, allowing you to pinpoint the most critical locations in your visualisations – as seen above.

Drop-pin functionality has led the way among client feature requests for some time, so will no doubt be a popular addition to the platform. Drop-pins can be added not only at a national level, but to local level dashboards to add a layer of depth and colour to your local stories.

This feature offers a suite of advanced options, including adding descriptions, changing pin types, and displaying images, and comes as standard with all packages, so is available to all clients at no extra cost.

New map templates

Next year, Scotland and Wales go to the poles to vote on new leadership at Holyrood and the Senedd. Both of these elections will be fought on entirely new boundaries. That is why, we have launched map templates reflecting the changes.

Our templates for Holyrood and Senedd constituencies allow you to begin engagement with candidates or prepare for immediate post-election outreach, and come complete with revised postcode mapping to match respective boundaries.

Additionally, a UK-wide Health Board template is also available for all your health data needs, bringing together ICBs in England, with health boards in Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland in one place. Other templates include a Local Authority Districts 2025 option and a standardised UK Fire Services map.

Postcode API

For public facing projects, we’re often asked about the availability of postcode search – something that until now has been reserved for our higher profile map templates.

Searching for your local area has now become easier and quicker thanks to a complete overhaul of our postcode API. The improved functionality allows you to search your area by any postcode in England, Scotland and Wales, and in any map template.

This improved functionality uses the very latest postcode data and is compatible with more templates than before.

Loading speeds, responsiveness and mobile compatibility

Across the past months, the developers have focused on significantly improving front-end loading speeds and responsiveness, as well as, mobile compatibility.

API updates ensure your visualisations load almost instantaneously on both landing and local pages, while the new map module delivers a fundamentally more responsive visual experience and improved mobile support. All the benefits of Polimapper are now just a mere tap away from your mobile screen.

Don’t wait to leverage the power of these significant platform updates. From granular street-level mapping and precise drop-pin functionality to the immediate use of new electoral boundary templates, Polimapper is now better equipped than ever to help you visualise complex datasets and drive meaningful political engagement.
