This week in Public Data

This week, healthcare and housing dominated the release schedule, with the Office for National Statistics’ house prices figures making national headlines due to a significant rise in prices. Read more here.

 

Housing

– Private rent and house prices

Data collation from the Price Index of Private Rents (PIPR), which measures private rent inflation for new and existing tenancies, and the UK House Price Index, which measures house price inflation. Figures are by local authority and region.

Health

– Health Insight Survey

Experiences of local GP services, NHS treatment waiting lists, dentistry and pharmacy services, analysing data from the Health Insight Survey commissioned by NHS England. Figures are available by Integrated Care Board.

– NHS bed availability and occupancy

Quarterly NHS collection on NHS bed availability and occupancy. The data refers to total number of available bed days and total number of occupied bed days by consultant main specialty, region and Integrated Care Board.

Energy

– Great British Insulation Scheme

Data to monitor the installation of energy efficiency measures in domestic properties via the Great British Insulation Scheme (GBIS). This is broken down by local authorities, constituencies and regions.

Society

– Statistical Digest of Rural England

Collection of statistics from the Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs on a range of social and economic topics, providing broad comparisons between Rural and Urban areas by settlement type. Updates were provided for Population, Communities and Households, and Energy datasets.

– Gambling Survey for Great Britain

Statistical release of the Gambling Survey for Great Britain, exploring gambling participation and behaviours on a regional level.

🗓️ Released on the 22nd of May by the Gambling Commission.

Next week in Public Data

Next week, new datasets on social inequality and energy will be released, offering fresh insights into disparities in income, personal well-being, and energy efficiency patterns.

 

Society

– Working and workless households

Statistic release from the Labour Force Survey on the economic status of households in the UK and the people living in them. Figures will be made available by region.

– Personal well-being

Quarterly estimates of life satisfaction in the UK. Indicators include happiness and anxiety. Regional level data will be made available.

– Tax-free childcare statistics

Tax-Free Childcare Statistics provide information on the numbers of families and children with open and used Tax-Free Childcare accounts and the amounts spent on government top-up. This dataset provides regional, constituency and local authority level figures.

-Geographical inequalities in premature mortality

Premature mortality rates for Upper Tier Local Authorities in England and Wales, between 21st March 2021 to 7th December 2023. Descriptive statistics are broken down by age, sex, ethnicity, Indices of Multiple Deprivation, socioeconomic status, and qualification.

Energy

– Boiler Upgrade Scheme

Data monitoring the uptake of low carbon technologies on the Boiler Upgrade Scheme (BUS), including the installation of air source heat pumps, ground source heat pumps and biomass boilers. Figures will be made available by local authority and constituency.

– Household Energy Efficiency 

Headline Household Energy Efficiency statistics under the Energy Company Obligation (ECO) and the Green Deal Framework. Local authority and constituency level data will be made available.

– Green Homes Grant and Home Upgrade Grant

Data to monitor the progress of the Green Homes Grant Local Authority Delivery scheme since its launch in 2020 and the Home Upgrade Grant since its launch in 2022. This includes analysis by region and local authority.

– Social Housing Decarbonisation Fund

Data to monitor the installation of energy efficiency measures in domestic properties via the Social Housing Decarbonisation Fund (SHDF) scheme in England. Figures will be made available by local Authority.

Education

– Pupil attendance in schools

Statistics on the levels of attendance and overall, authorised and unauthorised absence in state-funded primary, secondary and special schools. Data refers to England and is broken down by local authority.
