Polimapper client Postcode Lottery Group has claimed a significant award this conference season.
The Edinburgh based company won ‘Best Commercial Stand’ at the Liberal Democrat party conference.
Polimapper played its part in the award, providing the key interactive display feature of the stand layout used by Postcode Lottery Group across all three recent party conferences.
Malcolm Fleming, Postcode Lottery Group Director of Public Affairs, said using Polimapper to display lists of charities that the group contributed to in each parliamentary constituency across the UK was one of the reasons that made their stand award-winning.
“Having all of the data of the funding provided to charities mapped by constituency really helps bring our work to life for Parliamentarians, councillors and delegates at party conferences,” he said.
“It means we can quickly bring up information about the part of the country relevant to the MP, and explain all of the local funding awards their local charities have received.

“This time of year is always intensive, because of the numerous political party conferences we attend, so it was especially nice for our conference stand to be recognised with an award for Best Commercial Stand at the Liberal Democrat conference this year! I’ve no doubt that having the Polimapper data available on the stand was one of the reasons which made our stand award-winning!”
Nathan Coyne, managing director, Polimapper, said: “Postcode Lottery Group’s use of Polimapper’s interactive mapping tool demonstrates how these tools can effectively engage stakeholders. This recognition underscores the value of using innovative tools to stand out in a crowded conference environment.”
Polimapper also played a key part in other organisations’ engagement strategies during conference season.
Young Lives vs Cancer used Polimapper to visualise the geographic disparities in distances travelled by young cancer patients to principal treatment centres (PTC) and displayed this map on an iPad to engage with stakeholders at the party conferences.

Shelter, in partnership with IKEA, utilised Polimapper at the conferences to highlight issues around homelessness. Accessed through a QR code on their stand, Polimapper was part of their campaign calling on the government to build 90,000 social homes a year.
Before this year’s conferences, we explained how constituency data can help you stand out from the crowd at conferences and get your message across.
The close of another successful political party conference season shows that engaging, interactive maps are a surefire way of grabbing stakeholder attention at these events.
